Artist Details
Dinkar Jadhav, a renowned artist from Pune, has been a professional artist since 1994, emerging as a distinct figure in Indian contemporary art. His vibrant, prismatic works draw inspiration from nature, focusing on the dynamic forms of horses and bulls. Jadhav first gained acclaim with his "Ashwa Chitramala" series, where horses symbolize the human quest for love and freedom.
Over time, Jadhav's style has evolved from the intense passion and anguish of his earlier works to a more self-assured, romantic expression. This transition is evident in his "Lust for Love" series, where horses are depicted in pairs, embodying a carefree and adventurous spirit. The introduction of the bull into his portfolio adds a new dimension, representing strength and virility, charging toward dreams and desires.
His art is characterized by bold colors and geometric forms, creating a unique crayon-like texture with acrylics.
A graduate of the Abhinava Kala Mahavidyalaya in Pune, Jadhav has showcased his work in numerous exhibitions across India, including a notable solo show at the Jehangir Art Gallery in 2017. His achievements include several awards, such as the State Arts Award for Portrait Painting in 1995. Jadhav continues to live and work in Pune, where he explores the boundless possibilities of artistic expression.
